Assistance and aids
For some students with impairments, chronic or mental illnesses, support services are essential for participating independently in daily campus life, courses, and exams. Medical and technical aids, personal assistance, as well as assistance dogs can partially compensate for limitations caused by impairments and help break down barriers. In addition, opportunities for sharing experiences among peers can strengthen students’ self-efficacy and foster networking.
