Provision of materials

Even after the lecture period, you as a lecturer can make an important contribution to accessibility. This includes, first and foremost, ensuring that online resources and materials remain accessible so that all students can access them flexibly. These should remain available at least until the examination date.

Examination formats

Inclusive and alternative examination formats should also be offered to cater to different needs and ensure a level playing field. For example, formats based on the criteria of ‘constructive alignment’, such as projects, portfolios and group work, can be approved as examination formats or explicitly highlighted as an option. Where an examination has been taken, please provide detailed feedback on the student’s performance.

Course evaluation

Finally, the targeted evaluation of the course also helps to gather students’ experiences and feedback and to continuously develop your own teaching with regard to accessibility. In doing so, specifically incorporate accessibility criteria and ask about them. To make it clear that accessibility is not a one-off project but an ongoing task, course evaluations should take place regularly, with student feedback integrated.

To ensure the accessibility of the course evaluation using the ‘EvaSys’ evaluation and survey software, you must ensure that you select the ‘Designtemplate’ online template. Only then will the online survey be accessible in accordance with the WCAG 2.2AA standard.
