Light mode / Dark mode

Light mode and Dark mode are two visual styles for digital user interfaces that differ in their colour schemes and are designed to suit different usage scenarios. Light Mode displays content with a light background and dark text. It is particularly easy to read in well-lit environments and is often used as the default mode. Dark Mode uses dark backgrounds with light text. It reduces glare in dark rooms, can be easier on the eyes and, in the case of OLED displays, can even save energy. Both modes influence the usability, aesthetics and accessibility of applications. Many systems now offer automatic switching depending on the time of day or user preference, in order to optimise comfort and readability.
