Magnification software

Magnification software displays the image on a computer monitor, laptop, smartphone or tablet screen in a format suitable for people with visual impairments. Whilst the magnified display, with a zoom level selectable from a wide range, is the most important function of the programme, it is by no means the only one. At a computer or laptop workstation, the output is displayed on a standard monitor that has been individually adapted to the user’s eyesight and the intended purpose; to improve workplace ergonomics, this is usually mounted on a swivel arm; on a smartphone or tablet, the magnification app uses the device’s own display. The magnification software enables pixel-by-pixel magnification of the original screen image and offers a range of additional functions to improve the quality of the magnified display and facilitate usability.
